As part of our aim to represent Veterinary students across the UK and Ireland, AVS engages with the BVA, RCVS and various other organisations on issues that affect the provision of Veterinary education and its delivery in the UK and Ireland. As such, AVS has created policy statements relating to several contentious issues currently hitting the headlines. These statements have been formulated through gauging the varied and insightful opinions of our diverse membership base. The policy and executive subcommittees in liaison with all the school representatives amalgamate the feedback they receive from consultations with students and use it to form the backbones of our policies. As we are the voice of Veterinary students in the UK and Ireland, it is important we speak with one voice and make sure each of our members' opinions is both heard and represented, and our use of these policy statements aims to do just that.
