Who Are We?

IVSA UK and Ireland is the local chapter of the International Veterinary Students’ Association for vet students in the UK and Ireland. We are a subcommittee of The Association of Veterinary Students UK and Ireland, and students automatically become members of IVSA upon obtaining AVS membership.

We endeavour to form international links with other vet schools, raise awareness about veterinary public health and present opportunities for our members to attend conferences overseas. We have two IVSA exchange representatives at each university and meet twice a year. These representatives are responsible for organising exchange trips with veterinary faculties at other universities outside the UK and Ireland.

How can you get involved?

  • Take part in a group exchange! Contact your IVSA reps for more details for your university.

  • Organise (AH)EMS abroad with our exchange officer

  • Attend symposiums locally and abroad

  • Apply for scholarships, including chances to fund overseas trips

  • Attend congress, which is a chance to meet students from around the world and hear about everything that IVSA accomplishes

Exchanges

Group exchanges

Each year, your local IVSA reps at your university will organise an exchange with a vet school abroad. It is a great chance to meet vet students from all over the world, and show your vet school and local area before heading over to them!

Individual Exchanges

IVSA chapters around the world can help you to organise (AH)EMS placements and accommodation (and travel and sightseeing advice!) in their countries.
