The Association of Veterinary Students (AVS) and The Veterinary Defence Society Limited (VDS) are delighted to announce the opening of 5 x £200 (or equivalent euro amount) AVS x VDS EMS Grants for 2025/6!

As a response to member feedback, AVS announced the inaugural AVS EMS (Extra Mural Studies) Travel Grants in May 2018 as part of a two-year project to support students with their extra mural studies. The grants were designed to support students with financial aid to help complete EMS weeks, in particular clinical EMS, at veterinary practices in the UK and Ireland. In 2019, the VDS launched the VDS Student Club to share tips, training and advice with students before they graduate and from 2021 onwards, the VDS sponsor this grant.
